Kimodo
A diffusion model that creates three-dimensional body animation from a text description and set conditions: poses, positions of hands and feet, a route and points to pass through. There are versions for the SOMA skeleton (30 joints), the Unitree G1 robot (34 joints) and the SMPL-X human (22 joints). Version 1.2 is trained on a corrected set: in 1.1 some test recordings leaked into training, so the new version is the one to compare against other models. According to the authors, foot skating is reduced and text following is slightly weaker. The data of some variants is proprietary (Bones Rigplay), while the open variants are trained on Bones-SEED.

Frequently asked questions
Can Kimodo be used in a commercial project?
Yes. License: NVIDIA Open Model License (commercial use allowed). It allows commercial use, but it is still worth having a lawyer review the license before launch.
What hardware does Kimodo need?
At minimum: One GPU with 16–80 GB — mid-size versions. Without a GPU the model is not practical. You can calculate the exact VRAM for your model size and context in the hardware calculator.
Does Kimodo support Russian?
Language does not matter for this model: it does not work with text.
Where can I download Kimodo and what does it cost?
The Kimodo weights are open and free to download. You only pay for the hardware it runs on and for the setup. Source links are at the bottom of this page.
How I deploy it for clients
- SelectionI pick the model size for your task and hardware and test it on your examples.
- DeploymentI deploy it on your server or in a closed network and provide an API.
- Fine-tuningI fine-tune it on your data (LoRA) or connect a knowledge base — whichever is cheaper for the task.
- IntegrationI connect it to your CRM, ERP, bot, website or team chat and set up monitoring.
